Free Pick Garden:
Our main site has about three acres of free pick garden! The only sections that are not free pick are the geodome and a fenced in section that we harvest from for sale at the South Bend Farmers Market. These sales help support the maintenance of all our free pick gardens.
During the growing season, we have garden guides who can help you find what's in season, help you harvest, and generally show you around the garden! Look for people with blue shirts.
Absolutely anyone is welcome to visit and harvest, regardless of their socioeconomic background, zipcode or involvement. Stop by to say hi.

Accessibility Garden:
In 2024, we finished up an Accessibility Garden where those with mobility issues can harvest without a worry! There's wheelchair accessible beds, an ADA compliant picnic table, wheelchair friendly walkways and a driveway that connects directly to all of it.
Welcome Center:
We officially opened our Welcome Center in April of 2023! It houses a commercial kitchen, a classroom, (bathrooms!), a sharing area, gift shop, and our office spaces. Stop by for any of our free programs and events year round.
Farm Animals:
We have goats, rabbits and bees at our main site! There's also a tire snake available for climbing!
Orchard:
There are over 100 fruit trees and countless berry bushes at our main site! We grow apples, pears, tart cherries, peaches, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, and grapes, all without artificial chemicals or additives and all are free to pick from. Learn more about our orchard program here.
Geodome:
The Geodome was installed in August of 2023 as a year round growing space! It's completely off grid and powered by a solar array. We harvest from this space to supplement our Farmers Market Booth and retain the rest for tasting tours and education. Learn more about the geodome here.
Native Areas:
We plant lots of natives to support local pollinators, improve rain water retention, and add beauty!
Sharing Area:
We have a Sharing Area in our Welcome Center where people drop off excess food and others grab what they need! This shelf is supplemented by community partners like Cultivate, Clay Church Food Pantry and area growers. We often post on Facebook when we receive a large donation but you're always welcome to call our building (574)-222-2266 to see what's available!
