Come Volunteer With Us!
When can I volunteer at the main garden?
Volunteer anytime during our open hours at our Welcome Center on 3701 Prast Boulevard! Right now that's 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday, until 7pm on Wednesday, and 9am to 4pm on Saturday. We have bottle cap sorting all the time and seasonal tasks as they arise.
When can I volunteer at the satellite gardens?
- Field of Dreams Garden (corner of 933 and Angela Blvd, entrance across from Otsego Street): Wednesday nights 5:30-7:30pm
contact: Barbara Sutton (bsutton528@gmail.com, 574-315-3843)
What can you expect?
Working in the garden is a day-by-day, season-by-season activity. Depending on the season, the weather, and Mother Nature's plans, our tasks range from starting seeds in pots, weeding in the garden, mulching paths, painting signs, and everything in between. Right now we are working on sorting bottle caps to melt into benches for the gardens.
How to prepare?
Get ready to play in the dirt! Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, closed-toes shoes, and any sun/bug protection you may need. Also, bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. We supply gardening gloves and all of the tools and equipment.
