What is a CSA Box?
CSA stands for Community-Supported Agriculture. It is a system in which you, the customer, pays up-front for an agreed-upon amount of fresh produce from our garden over a set period of time.
Why should I get a CSA Box?
Three reasons: first and foremost, you get to support local producers like Unity Gardens! Second, you get to try a variety of fresh, ecologically grown, hand-picked produce every week. Third, you get this produce at a great discount – a savings of about $50!
How does it work?
For a one-time payment of $250, you will receive approximately $30 worth of food from us every week for 10 weeks! You can pick up your produce the Unity Gardens Welcome Center on either Thursdays or Saturdays. When you come by to pick up your box, don't forget to say hello to the Unity Gardens team, take a walk through the garden, and visit the goats and chickens! Then, you can go home to enjoy your produce and repeat the goodness next week!
What should I expect in my CSA share?
For the first couple of weeks, you should expect mostly greens and herbs and possibly farm-fresh eggs. As the growing season progresses, you could find tomatoes, beans, squash, peppers, and more in your box! All of our produce is grown using natural, sustainable techniques ensuring you're getting delicious and wholesome food. The generous portions will make many yummy meals throughout the week!
2024 CSA pick-ups begin in June at the Unity Gardens Welcome Center.
Farmer Emily, the CSA coordinator, will be in touch to let you know when it's time! If you have any questions, just email.
