Unity Gardens offers internships as diverse and creative as you are. We work with you to identify your strengths and interests to build a mutually beneficial working environment. Though the garden has some inherent duties to perform, you will find that no day is ever the same and the possibilities for engagement are endless.  

Sustainability

We are committed to sustainable land management practices in all we do. The gardens' biodiversity is bolstered by native planting areas to benefit pollinators, composting and no-till growing to preserve the microbial health of the soil, and much more. 

Urban Agriculture

The LaSalle Square garden spans seven acres with a variety of growing practices including hoop-houses, a geodome, orchards, and in-ground growing. Interns will learn the ins and outs of sustainable agriculture and management.

Community Outreach

From the open garden to free classes and community events, we grow more than just vegetables! Interns will greet garden visitors, lead volunteer groups, staff our welcome center and farmers market booth, and assist in community events.
