Whats coming up
Please join us this Saturday May 11th from 10am until 1pm for our 2013 Groundbreaking at LaSalle Square Unity Garden 3701 Prast Blvd. Lots of activities, Kohl's Fit Fest will be out as part of the Monthly Passport to Play Program. at 10:30 Martin's Supermarket will be doing a food demo. 11:30 Unity Gardens Flash Gardeners will put together a raised bed and plant it in just 30min. and a Noon the Mayor will do a ribbon cutting on our 2013 Projects. Thanks to The Pokagon Fund, Community Foundation, PNC Bank, Herrman & Goetz, Inovateus Solar, Hartman Electric, AEP, Jamba Juice , and the City of South Bend we will be firing up our new Solar Panels, Aquaponics Station, Hydroponics station, See Whats New ! What is Unity Gardens
Unity Gardens is a 501(3)c non-profit . Unity Gardens was started by Sara Stewart with just one garden with the idea of feeding hungry people, and providing a place for diverse people to gather. That was in the summer of 2008. Since then Unity Gardens has grown to be much more than that. With over 45 gardens of all shapes and sizes we help to feed our community. We offer free gardening classes to teach the community how to grow their own food. We offer free cooking and preserving classes to show how to cook healthy, and save your harvest .
Unity Gardens education goals are not to just throw a random class out there about gardening. We want you to be able to grow your own garden, keep your own Bees, and raise your own Chickens. Watch for our subjects to grow as time allows. We want to empower your to grow your own.
